Kinky

My Buddy Kinky (he had a kink in his tail)Kinky

Kinky your family started with your grandma coming home as a rescued pup in a pocket, she harassed grandma Morag into a few more years of life, brought the puppy out in her. Then came your mom, a beauty in her own right, but so stupid about traffic! We howled together when she died. You and your grandma Ralphie kept me going thru so much! My best friends, my camping buddies - I could never open the van door without it being invaded by kids - just in case...

Your disappointment when I would have to leave you home just tore me apart, but your smiling face and greeting howls when I would return warmed my heart after the worst of days.

You pretended to dislike Bailey when he came into our lives, but when the two of you would race into the house, and your eyes were shining, and your tongue hanging out - I knew it was a sham!

We clung to each other when your grandma died, you licked away my tears and helped life go on. A short year and a half later you got sick, we thought we could regulate the diabetes, but we never had the chance, the cancer took you so fast! One week and you were gone! There is such a gap in my life, and Bailey's, you were so quiet, but your presence made our home. From a sqirmy little mouse born beside my bed you have been a huge part of my life for 14 years, the gap will never go, although the pain will lessen in time, then those flitting memories will bring a smile, not tears...

Goodbye little buddy, I think you are now reunited with your mom and grandma in a place where everyday is a high mountain lake camping trip, where there is always new rocks to dig off the lake bottom, and the squirrels never stop tossing spruce-cones out of the trees for you to chase.........
