Jessica Rabbit

Jessica Rabbit

Jessica Rabbit came into our lives in 1995. She was only 8 weeks old when I brought her home, and I was only going to get a hamster, so my boyfriend was very surprised to see a little fuzz-ball with long ears sitting on my shoulder. She always wanted to know what was going on, and when out of her cage loved to greet people. She played games with me with a ball, rolling it back to me. She had a favorite toy, a squeaky Speedy Gonzales that she kept from chewing for almost a year. Any other toy got chewed as soon as she had them. She would pick him up and toss him at me, often right out her cage door onto the floor.

She was only one when we found out she had diabetes, and we spent many long days and nights helping her to recover. We were told she would not live very long, but with love and a lot of patience, she left us this week having given us 7 years of love and laughter.

Here's to our funny, sweet, delicate flower. She was friends to anyone who looked her way! She will be greatly missed.
